This week, we had the privilege of delving deeper into Madeira’s fisheries and logistics sector through our two-day technical visit, as part of the CBM-VET project. Here are some of the highlights:
𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏:
🐟 Funchal Fish Market: we explored the efficient fish reception and distribution operations.
⚓ Fishing Vessel: We reviewed the safety conditions on board, essential to face the challenges of deep-sea fishing.
🔥 Regional Civil Protection Service, IP-RAM: We were impressed by advanced training techniques and firefighting simulations.
🏭 Grupo Vidinha Factory: We observed the rigorous process from reception to distribution of the fish, with a strong focus on food safety.
𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐:
🐠 Mercado dos Lavradores: We detail the organisation and facilities of the fish selling area.
📚 Instituto Profissional de Transportes e Logística (IPTL): We explore the facilities where practical modules of professional courses are taught, integrating education and practice.
📈 ISO Quality Workshop: We participated in a workshop that delved into the standards that improve our processes and services.
🗓️ Closing and Planning: We concluded with a closing meeting and planning for the final event in Sao Tome and Principe.
